the right grey

We found the right grey for the half bath: Stonington Grey by Benjamin Moore. I love it so much that I am thinking the office will be painted the same shade. C also tackled the BIG wall (about 18 feet high on a staircase). Lot's of low VOC paint fumes at Carver.

the half bath: advanced tiling edition

C spent the weekend tiling the half bath and staining the front door, while I played with big red. We used ceramic tiles from heath in two colors: white and muslin. It crazily looks more like 3 colors because the white has some variation (handmade ceramic tiles are best to give that look if that's what you're going for). He's becoming a tiling pro, yes?

We are really excited about what the half bath is becoming. C is making a custom wood sink shelf/stand contraption and we are getting a really pretty kohler purist sink to go on top of it. We'll also be testing various grey paint samples (from the spectrum of light to greige to greyish blue).

stairs + closet

We have wood on the stairs and wood in the closet under the stairs! We actually ran out of glue for the stairs, so the top few aren't glued down. We were also short on our stair nosing. So two stairs are waiting patiently for theirs. Oops.

THE door part 2

The door is installed, and it wasn't as bad as we thought. There were some hiccups and we had to run out to Home Depot in the middle of installation. But hey, we're used to that. The trim work and staining hasn't been done, so pardon the mess. But you get the idea.

THE door

Our new entry door is here and it's perfect and exactly what we wanted! We are so excited to stain and get this baby installed. Thanks L+C!!!

the stairs

Since we just ordered a trash bin to clear out the tons of trash that's accumulated over the past few months, we decided to pull up the carpet and take down the stair railing to get it out of here. C thinks staples were free in 1967 because we removed at least 500 of them from the rug pad. Now we can refinish the stairs.
