We're getting really close to being totally done with the downstairs. And that's a crazy feeling. We still need to paint the moldings, hang a couple doors and then someday replace the door that goes into the garage (not even close to the top of the list). But we are getting there! We've been spending our time working on our real jobs, getting bids for a new roof, turning the office into something pretty and crafting our vision in the living area. We are still missing some key pieces like a couple chairs based off the coveted PK22 chair. Please note I said based off, i.e. replicas. Why is Design Within Reach so far out of reach? Some sort of bench, or poof, or something for under the console table. And still waiting to hang our showstopper of a pendant light for over the dining room. We ordered it 2 months ago from this place and still haven't received it. I can't say I recommend them.

the office
When C gave me the go ahead to gut and transform the office, I wasted no time. I immediately started tearing off baseboards, ripping up carpet and sanding down wood that had been painted way too many times. Here's a before look at the room.

We gut the closet and it will remain a closet, but with thick white curtains hung from the inside rather than the mirrored closet doors. Carver came with a total of 4 sets of these. And I happen to not be a fan of mirrored closet doors. We also painted the room Stonington Grey by our fave, Benjamin Moore. The ceiling and Trim are Benjamin Moore Frostine. Sadly, we ran out of our wood halfway through the room, so hopefully we'll have more to lay next weekend. We decided to stick with Kahrs in storm cloud maple. We just love the dark floors and it's definitely been one of the biggest stars of our home renovation.
